How to Turn a Family Story into a Children’s Book

MOMO Book child reading

A children’s book does not need an enormous plot. A small adventure, a family tradition, or a question a child asks can be enough. Write down who the story is about, what they want, and what changes by the end.

Think in scenes

Divide the idea into a beginning, middle, and ending. Picture what readers will see on each page. Short, clear sentences often work better than long explanations, especially when illustrations carry part of the story.

Keep characters consistent

If a child or animal appears throughout the book, record details such as clothing, colors, personality, and surroundings. A simple character guide helps illustrations feel like they belong to the same world.

Review before sharing

Read the story aloud, check the language for the intended age group, and ask someone you trust for feedback. MOMO BOOK is being developed to help people create, illustrate, and prepare books. Its publishing and sales features are planned, not currently promised as live.
