How to Photograph Everyday Places with More Feeling

MOMO sunny photography

A compelling photo does not require a famous landmark. Morning light on a shop window, a quiet street after rain, or the colors of a neighborhood market can tell a story about a place.

Work with natural light

Soft light near a window or during the early and late parts of the day often brings out texture. Move a few steps before taking the picture and notice how the direction of light changes the mood.

Simplify the frame

Before pressing the shutter, look at the edges of your image. Remove distracting objects by changing your position. Try including one strong subject and a little space around it.

Remember where you were

Write a short caption about why the moment mattered. Over time, a collection of ordinary photos becomes a personal travel journal. MOMO Journey is being designed around discovery, and photographs can help us remember the places that made a journey meaningful.
